Search box in image picker for Xhtml editor

If I have a property that is a Content Reference and with UIHint.Image I get a search box in the image picker for the property.
If I insert an image in the XHtml editor via the insert picture button I get no search box in the image picker.
Could this be changed? Or possible to set with a setting?
