Active Domain user with local groups (roles)?

No, this is not possible. For security reasons, you should keep these separate. If you need new groups, you should define them in AD.

Is it possible to assign Active Domain user to local groups? I'm using mixed role and membership providers, Active Domain + EpiServerCommon. When I view properties on Active Domain user the group management is greyed out (I have list of local groups, but can't assign AD user to them).
