Sure just mark the content type as not available in edit mode. You can do this by setting AvailableInEditMode to false in your SiteContentType attribute.

I have a MyBlock block I use only as the property on pages. Can I forbid creating MyBlock as shared block, so the editors cannot create it and have a mess and avoid confusing?
