How to automate import and export

Vote:

Hi.

We are working on an automated build process and we want to use a command line of some sort to export a set of data from a specific server, and then use another command line to import this data into our staging server.

we do not want to use humans for this. but just a push of a button.

is there any way to do this? any API we can hook into if not?

any existing hidden tool?

EpiServer can have a GREAT differentiation from sharepoint in how much it supports automation in the build.

If we can do this, it is a great example for my blog as well at osherove.com

Hi Roy

I haven't tried anything other than using the UI for this, but there are two classes in EPiServer.Enterprise.dll that should help you out:

Don't know how your requirements for exporting the data looks but if your always getting data from the same node in a tree then the mirroring might be something to take a look at.
