Is there an alternative for YouTubeContentProvider in CMS12 ?

We are in the process of doing an upgrade from CMS11 to CMS12, and there is an old implementation of YouTubeContentProvider. 

Anyone who was able to do the upgrade for this provider ? or is there any alternatives for this with CMS12 ?

I see the repository is archived, but as the source is still available, you could upgrade it yourself.

My guess is that not that many changes are needed. Have you tried?
