virtualPathMappings override

Do the virtual path mappings override work in the same way as 6 R2? I can't seem to find any documentation about it.

 

Also do the references to the EPiServerUI.Master remain the same now that the all the cms core has moved the appdata folder.

 MasterPageFile="~/ui/CMS/CMS/MasterPages/EPiServerUI.Master"


Would this remain the same?
